I have a little giggle at her spoiled, racist expense thinking about one of them getting her essay.

As for your friend, that's horrible, but kind of how I imagine life in the sticks in Korea for anyone that didn't fit the students' expectations of what a foreigner should look like. Especially five or more years ago.

Interestingly, when we interviewed Expat Jane on the podcast, she said she loved living in Yeosu "back in the day." I think she's a pretty strong person, though.

BTW Where have you been? You haven't updated your blog in about a hundred years and I haven't seen you around Ravelry (but that could be me.)Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13034007389011865141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30871338.post-33513950163296284372008-08-16T08:26:00.000+09:002008-08-16T08:26:00.000+09:00Good lord. Just about every time we went out, strangers came up and started touching her hair. At ECC, she was left with few students, because the little ones screamed when they saw her, and the parents of most of them refused to let their kids be placed in her classes. I was so proud of her for sticking out the whole year and finishing her contract.JRShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01966823571669839347noreply@blogger.com
